The course was established in 1992 as the annual "Intensive Oncology Course" but more recently has been running every two years. This year, 2010 will be our 10th course.

The course is run by NHS education for Scotland and the lectures are based at the Lister Postgraduate Institute, 11 Hill Square, Edinburgh. EH8 9DR. The clinical sessions are held in the HeBa male cancer unit in the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, Western General Hospital, Crewe road Edinburgh, EH4 2XU. The course directors are Dr Janet Ironside, Dr Tamasin Evans and Professor Ian Kunkler, Consultant Clinical Oncologists and Dr Lesley Dawson, Consultant Medical Oncologist , all based at The Edinburgh Cancer Centre.
